Description
Classic Design, Great Performance American Hunting Bow. Designed for long-time use. Perform well in both indoor archery and outdoor hunting. The take-down design makes it easier to be shipped or carried for outdoor sports or hunting.
Note
The bow is shipped with riser/limbs/string taken down. You need to assemble them by yourself after you receive the parcel. We highly recommend using a Bowstringer to attach the string, especially for those bows with the higher draw weight. We also provide videos teaching you how to finish the assembly.
When you play around with our bows, please follow every rule you have learned of archery:
Check bow and accessories carefully before shooting.
Find a safe place before shooting, don’t aim anything except the arrow target. And the most important:
Amazing bow. Very accurate and great quality especially at the price point.

I used to be active longbow shooter about 10 years ago and then had to quit for multiple reasons. Now that I got back to this hobby, I purchased myself a 160€ one piece longbow from local archery store from Finland and this Black hunter from Mandarin duck. I was pleasantly surprised that Black hunter was literally so many times better than the locally bought bow. Thanks to the heavy riser, Black hunter has little to none hand shock, it is very smooth to draw and it shoots true. I feel that if I don’t hit the target, I cannot blame the bow, I can only blame myself. Where I aim, the arrow goes! Unfortunately my Black hunter had a minor flaw that the top limb string groove was quite sharp and my string snapped after about 100 arrows. I contacted Mandarin duck about this problem and a super friendly Customer service person promised to send me replacement limbs and a new string. I’m giving 5 stars because even though there was a minor flaw with the bow, the customer service was the best customer service experience I have received in years! The bow itself took about a week to arrive to Finland. Usually beginner bows (even more expensive than this one) are good to start with, but you can’t really grow with them, but with Black Hunter, I believe it’s a good bow for even more advanced archers. This is a bow I can trust and that I can call “My bow” with pride!

Great value for money providing your draw length is less than 28″. This bow stacks badly and is not suitable for up to 31″ draw as advertised.

My first longbow and I love it! The smoothness really makes up for the higher draw weight! I was worried about FedEx, because in Sweden it is considered a scam, but the personal service from Mandarin Duck, especially from “Bella”, made the delivery flawless and reliable. It took 2 weeks from China to my address! 👍👍
I can highly recommend Mandarin Duck, don’t buy cheap knock offs on Ebay/Amazon/Aliexpress.. You pay a little extra, but the amount of service and durable quality is worth every penny. Because this is a great value and high quality bow that you can’t find anywhere else, pay $20-30 more and you won’t regret it!
Thank you ”Bella”/Mandarin Duck! //Michael Bitton

Bow is very light and well crafted. A good bow for beginner or backyard arrow flinging. I’m able to switch out for recurve limbs as an option.

This bow is a serious competitor in the field of such 4-5 or more times the price. I highly recommend to put on a fastflight string and some string silencers – otherwise the bow is pretty loud with the original string, producing a guitarstring-like sound. After I made the mentioned modifications, set a nockpoint and added some limbsavers, the bow is both – superfast AND super noiseless

I’m amazed at the quality and accuracy of this bow. Was on point straight away and was lovely and quiet. Nice and light easy to build. I also bought the carbon arrows and they are the perfect match for the bow. Very happy indeed 😀 Thanks Colin

Just got the Mandarin Duck TD longbow, arrived in 7 days from china to the east coast USA, that alone is amazing as I’m still awaiting a vendor package from Florida that shipped out 2-1/2 weeks ago, Grrr. I’ve been heavy into archery since a kid in 1953, all flavors but particularly traditional archery and mostly Hill-style longbows. Needing a backup TD longbow for an upcoming flyaway hog bowhunt I took a chance on the Black Hunter offering and so far I’ve not be disappointed. I ordered the last 45@28 in stock and that’s what arrived, as my Easton digital draw weight scale registers a consistent 45.3lbs holding weight at exactly 28″ of draw length (to the front of the bow shelf). I was specifically intrigued with this bow due to the bamboo limbs as that’s what I prefer on all longbows. Bottom line, very pleased. Super smooooooth draw to past 28″ (thanx to bamboo), good speed with 10 to 12 gpp woodies and carbons alike. There is some boinging noise happening on release as the R/D limbs and tips do their wiggles, this is normal, but that was easily tamed with a pair of wool silencers inserted into the string … speaking of which, the supplied string was a tad too short at 56-1/2″, so I spun up a new B55 14 strand endless string at 57-1/2″, which is a teeny bit long as I expected and that allowed putting in some good twists to nicely round it off. This yields a brace height of 8″ to the depth of the grip. The supplied swatch of sticky backed hair hide would make a good shelf rest (there should have been instructions to let newbies know to make sure the hair points forward when making a hair rest), but I prefer Velcro sticky back loop instead. All in all, for the low price point, overall good build and materials, and good performance (stable on the release and fast arrow speed), I’ll give this bow 9 out of 10 stars …. if it lasts without issues for a year’s worth of shooting I’ll up that rating to 10 stars. Cheers! :)

Beautiful bow, decent quality and shoots comfortably. There is a wee bit of a handshock, but nothing too disturbing. I would recommend getting another string to go with it, the 22 strand string that comes with it seems a little excessive, at least for lower poundages. I started out with the 30# version and have since also ordered the 35# limbs and the recurve limbs at 40# (which also fit perfectly) . All were delivered very fast and in good condition.

Bravo.
